recording music on sony slv-n900

I have in the past recorded music (6hrs) on vhs tapes. Use the recordings during the day at work. I decided to purchase a good vcr (sony slv-n900) for my recordings. When I record audio with the vcr the playback is not of a steady speed. It goes faster and slower - not much but enough to be annoying. This has happened on 2 nearly new identical units. I have an old Memorex vcr that I used to use for recording that did not do this. What can be the problem? I sure would like some help. Thank You, Tlynn

SAMSUNG DVD-R125 ? LADY DRIVER NEEDS HELP!

OK! SO - NOT THE SHARPEST DISC IN THE SHOP ! BUT I'VE SUCESSFULLY (SHE SAYS) RECORDED 3-4 DISCS ON NEW PLAYER & BEEN CLEVER ENOUGH TO 'FORMAT' 'PLAYLIST', 'EDIT' ETC.   NOW? WORLD CUP+ BLANK DISCS+3 REMOTES (SAMSUNG DVD/SHARP TV & SKY BOX) = CONFUSION & HORMONE/BLOOD PRESSURE/ANXIETY LEVELS DANGEROUSLY RISING...

WHAT THE H*** DOES IT MEAN WHEN IT SHOWS 'INVALID DISC INFORMATION'? YES, I'VE TRIED FORMATTING EITHER USED OR UNUSED DISCS - SAME MESSAGE.

Toshiba D-R4: errors out when I finalize

Hi--

I'm pretty ignorant about this stuff. I did not RTFM and ended up with a big stack of non-finalized DVDs, and then I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't play anywhere but on their "mother" machine. So now I go to finalize them. I follow all the instructions to the letter, but in every single case the machine errors out in the final step. Any experience with this problem? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Aspire 5.1 Surround Sound- DVD player not working

All audio works on the Aspire Surround Sound that I bought off a guy at work.  The DVD player does not play movies.  It will completely freeze up after a few minutes of viewing.  The entire thing freezes up..... you have to power down and back up to unfreeze.  Is it possible to purchase a DVD player that will be compatible to the surround sound components???

DVD player will not work

My DVD player was scratching my DVD's, when I took the top off and there was a spring on the laser that reads the disc. It had attached since the laser is magnetized. I'm sure that's not where it belongs. I removed the spring. Now when I insert a disc the player will try to load, but then will auto eject the disc. Does any one now where the spring might belong?

My DVD player is a pioneer, model DV-363-S.

DirecTV HR10-250

For those of you who own one, what are your opinions of it? Besides the fact they haven't released software version 6.2 for it, I have noticed some other shortcomings.

  • Lack of zoom mode: Sure, it has a "full" mode that stretches the picture horizontally, but a zoom feature would be good for letterbox movies on SD channels. In such cases, not only are there black bars on the top and bottom, but there are also bars on the left and right. TV's such as mine will not zoom the picture if the signal is 480p or 1080i.
