Toshiba DR-5 Troubles

I have a 6 month old DR-5 that now says no disc or bad disc when reading a new recordable disc. It will play previously recorded discs fine. Any clues or suggestions?

I have an LG RC797 Dvd/VCR Recorder.  It is less than a year old and I am transferring my sister's home video's to dvd disc for Christmas and it's been acting up.  It won't read a disc - any disc.  It starting with having to press close 4 or 5 times before it would read.  It would close, say "reading" and then open again.  Now it closes and opens everytime but will not follow through and read a disc.  I have tried every type of disc new/blank/recorded/old/purchased movie.  It used to help it I would shut it off for a few minutes or as a last reso

HI,

I just got a call from my father in the UK. He just bought a Toshiba D-VR17KTB (DVD and Video Recorder) and he wants to know how to make the re-writeable DVDs BLANK again, so he can re-use them. I am not in the country, so I cannot help him. I would guess he probably has to re-format the DVDs, but I'm not sure? Can someone help me please.

What is the best way to hook up my DVD Player (OPPO DV-981 HD) to a Yamaha RX V-800 Receiver and Samsung LCD 46 TV. The player has a HDMI out put (no component outputs). The receiver has no HDMI inputs. Can I go HDMI from player direct to TV and go optical from player to optical input on the receiver? The fact that the HDMI carries sound and video will this interfer with the optical sound? Any help appreciated.

Hy, i baught a new pc last year and it worked fine and still does. But the problem is it used to play DVDs but now it doesn't play any kind of DVD and it doesn't show any error message. It tries to play it but it will stop after some time and acts like if there is no CD inserted at all. I don't remember when the problem started but i think, it started after i reinstalled windows. I am living in Ethiopia right now and I haven't got any solution after i asked the "technicians".

i just bought a phillips LRPC 7500 computer and i need some help.

i just need to know how to connect it to my sky digital so i can watch and record tv. im not sure what leads i need and what goes where.
