Lost Toshiba dvd/vcr remote

Hi, So I lost my remote for my Toshiba DVD/VCR player (model # SD-V280U) a while back. I've been able to program my universal remote and get some functionality, but the "select" button never works. This means I can't watch some DVDs that have multiple episodes/sections.

I found a website where I can order a new remote for about $35 plus s/h. Is this my only hope?

Thnks,

dvd recording help please for Samsung

I have a Samsung DVD-VR330 and it's becoming temporamental.  I've been using Pleomax (by Samsung) DVD-RW discs to record from TV.  They have been fine - most times - but over the last couple of months it is refusing to load some of them, wanting to re-initialise them and then when I tape on them it wants to initialise again, thus I lose the film.  Can anyone help solve my problem?  I've even cleaned the disc drive to be sure it's not that.

DVD - no picture, no sound

I just switched out a VCR for a DVD player and can't get picture or sound. I am using coaxial cables (it's an older TV). The TV is working fine and the DVD seems to be playing (the numbers are moving), but just not on screen...I've tried the TV input switch, and tried rebooting, but to no avail... Help please! Thank you!

TV does not always turn on

My Toshiba 36 inch HD TV does not always turn on either with the remote or the on/off button. The little red light on the tuner button flashes and the tuner makes a clicking sound. After about 10 or 20 times, the TV may turn on. I'm refering the on/off button as the tuner. Nobody in my area repairs TV's and the nearest repairman is 60 miles away. I called one guy and if I bring the TV to him, he charges $60 just to look at it and will apply that amount to the bill if he repairs the set. He would not give an estimate and I don't know if the TV is worth fixing.
