Television and Home Theater

 I OWN A VS5051/2 REAR PROJECTION TV. HAD IT APPROX 12 YRS. WE HAD SOME BAD WTHR IN SAN ANTONIO THE LAST FEW DAYS AND I NOTICE FREQUENT ELECTRICAL SURGES DUE TO ICE AND SNOW. MAYBE THIS IS NOT THE CAUSE BUT I THOUGHT ID MENTION IT. MY TV NOW DOES NOT POWER UP. I CAN HEAR A CLICKING NOISE ON AND OFF BUT NO GREEN INDICATOR LIGHT OR SOUND OR PICTURE., I DO HAVE A SURGE PROTECTOR IN LINE. ANY IDEAS????????

My 50 inch Gateway Plasma TV ( serial # 1097595691, model # is GTW -P42M102) has developed a terrible flicker, much like a strobe light.  It does this for up to 20 minutes depending on how cold it is.  It only does this for 10 min. after TV has been turned off and restarted during the same day.  Wouldn't this be a problem that Plasma TV's have in common?  

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

original manual and remote control lost.  how to reset the channels in order to tune in channel 60.  our dish network must have TV set on channel 60 to work.  thank you in advance for any assistance.
