Television and Home Theater

I have a Sony Trinitron 27" TV Mod. KV-27TS27 that has a volume control problem. The volume control appears to function on the screen when using the remote OR the front panel button. The volume only begins to increase at about 2/3 of the way up the on-screen scale and increases only minimally along with a hum.

Any suggestions as to how to fix it?

Also, will I have the same problem if I turn off the internal speakers for Home Theatre use?

Our RCA TV, Colortrak, model unknown, is not working properly.  We are using an antenna, which we have for years.  The TV will be coming in fine, then all of a sudden only the channel you are watching will completely black out.  If you flip to other channels, they will be coming in.  In order to get the channel you want to watch to work again, you have to turn the TV off, wait about 30 seconds, then turn it back on.   It will come in almost crystal clear, then.......boom, it will black out, you have to turn it off, and so on.  I would think about getting a

The picture on tv set is upside down and backwards.  My friend opened up the t.v. (don't know why) and he probably moved something in there and now the picture is all messed up. T.V was working fine before he opened it.... Can someone help me please?
