Television and Home Theater

please help . my pride and joy has all gone very wrong.

sat watching tv and something went pop. now the screen is blue all over and you have wav lines over screen . you can still see a faint pic but totally unwatchable help me please 

My Daughter's TV an orion TV1934. Just a few minutes ago she went to turn it on, it turns on, with sound, but the picture is dark. No picture. Can you assit me?

Our Sony Tv picture was working fine and all of a sudden the bottom section of the screen was clear but from the middle section and up went black with green, blue and yellow lines. Right in the middle they all mix and turn pink and brite white. The sound is completely normal and so is the bottom half of the screen. Any ideas what's going on? Is it worth haing repaired? The unit weights 235lbs, so it would have to be an "in home" service call. HELP!!!
