Television and Home Theater

I have been given a plasma screen (LG MZ42PZ) with a JVC DV3R but no instructions. I have found some instructions for the JVC online but can't make sense of how to set up the screen with the JVC unit and with my existing Thomson set top box. (We don't have SKY). We apparently have all the cables / scarts we need??!! Can anyone offer any advise please.

i relize that this is a old tv. but, i would like to fix it if i can. the tv when turned on, the bottom half of the screen is half black after a little while the bottom half comes on, sometimes the whole screen will be black when turned on but most of the time only the bottom half. sometimes if turned on and of multiple times it will fix itself. what is going out?

I have a Panasonic HDTV model # CT-36HX42F that will not power on.  We were watching tv yesterday and it just went off.  I tried to turn it back on and the light came on and it sounded like it was going to turn on, but it immediately went off.  Them when I tried it again, it did nothing.  So, I tripped the breaker and tried it again.  It just did the same thing.  Any ideas?
