I am new to this forum, i have a brand i normally don’t work on, and it seems to have two standby power supplies a sub standby and a standby, what will turn on the standby. my problem is a dead set with no led's at all. the sub standby has secondary voltage, but the standby does not have any secondary voltages. Any ideas -- Thanks
I am sorry I did not see this thread before. If you still need some help with this TV set, I will be happy to share a service manual with you.
I got through this one, i am just glad it is gone. I don't work on mits, and you won't see me comment much on them either. The next time i get one in the shop your experience with this brand will be helpful to me. Thanks!
btw, that is how i found this site, i was looking for someone to help me with this tv, techlore came up on Google search fairly early in the search. i was looking for “Mitsubishi repair”, i think was the query.
Larry,
WS655513 - I changed out the caps on the DM board as directed before. Light still blinks
what do you suggest next- e-mail [email protected]
Fred, double check your work and be sure that the DM board is seated correctly into the main board. I have found out that many many times That was the problem after the caps were replaced.
Larry,
Thanks for the response. You hit it right on the nose. That board is a pain in
the back side to get fully seated. I think that I could install that board in my sleep now.
The set works fine. Can I expect any other known failures from this set?
Fred Lightfoot
You might run into a convergence IC falure in the future. The less you mess with the convergence, the greater the chance you will not have a problem. I am glad you double checked your work and got the set working.
