Sony KV-24FV12 Troubleshooting Help

I've got a Sony KV-24FV12 that croaked the other day.  When turned on (with remote or front panel), a rapid succession of clicks (7 or 8) can be heard then it will power off after a few seconds.  There's never a picture or sound.  I get blink codes from the standby light after it powers off.  Usually it blinks four times first, then repeats five blinks indefinitely.  I presume this means I have code 4 and 5 in succession.  Sometimes I'll just get two blinks over and over.  Lucky me, it seems like I get all three possible error codes from this thi

French television - Orion

I bought an Orion Pal/Secam TV in France and brought it home to England. It worked with no problems in France on Secam. In England I have changed over to Pal and have found all the terrestrial channels ok but there is a problem with the sound. All the time there is a shhh-ing noise as if it is off-channel but fine tuning has no effect. This makes it unwatchable. Please can anyone help? Maggie

Black line on Zenith 42 inch flat screen

I have a Zenith 42 inch flat hdtv.  For the past month or so, we have had a black line (about 1-1 1/2 inches thick) appearing from top to bottom.  It was on and off for a while but now it does not go away.  As soon as I turn the tv on its there.  Any ideas or suggestions on what could be wrong and how to fix? Thanks...

Fine Tune w/ G2 JIG - Sony KP-57HW40

Hi all,

Thanks to zapdbf for pointing me in the right direction to get rid of red retrace lines!  I was able to get rid of the red horizontal lines by adjusting the R, G, B screen trimpots.
