Television and Home Theater

Well, to start off the television isn't really mine yet but I found an ad on Craigslist that the person selling the TV (mentioned in the title) says the only problem is the red seems to have covered the whole screen. Better yet, I'll post on what the ad says..

Looking to get a new tv and would like some input on quality of products and what to stay away from. Wanting a 50" to 60" LCD or Plasma. LCD would be in the 50" range .   Would like to keep tv cost around $4,000.00 on high end.  Have been impressed w/ the Samsung A-650 plasmas at local stores. Not sure to go w/ plasma or LCD,  side by side the plasma was a better picture and the LCD looked great also.  Are there any maintenence and/or repair issuesto consider?

Hey all, got my convergance ics changed out and set convergance according to service manual and viola!!!! My picture is back and better than ever.
