Sony KP-51ws510

I purchased this tv in 2004, it just quit working I am also getting 6 blinks.  I had a tech come out and tell me the transformer is bad, he charged me 125.00 to come out and diagnose the problem.  I was looking around and the part is only 70.00 is this something i can do myself.  What all is involved or can anyone email me the manual to replace this part.  I have a tester and would also like to know based on the other post should I also replace the HVB as well.

Mitsubishi ws-55813

I need the step by step instructions for removing the DM module. I've read many of the articals pertaining to the "flashing green light of death", which I am now encountering.  Service center wants $1057.00 to repair....like that's going to happen....NOT!!!!

Techlore community-

My first post after reading numerous posts on this issue and it seems that replacing four caps on the DM board (1000uf @35 volts ?) is my most likely success path.  I do not have the service manual, and it seems that I need this (and maybe one other manual) to begin the repairs.  Larry or other(s), can you help?

Thank you very much!

I have to credit my daughter for the email.

Sony Rear projection Model:KP-51WS520 2 blinks

I am trying to troubleshoot a problem with my television (KP-51WS520). I am getting 2 blink pause for 3 seconds and repeat. I have found the service manual online and have been going through the circuit testing componets as suggested suggest around the D board. From what I gather Q5001 and Q5201 are shorted. Does anyone have suggestions or experianced this specific problem on how to resolve this issue. I have some electronic background so I am giving repairing the TV a shot. Its that or put it out on the curb. I figured make it a learning experiance.
