Television and Home Theater

There has been several issues posted, from no response to pwr on to stuck in standby mode with a number of flashing lights, to flashes continuosly. My issue is just a tad bit diferent.

My unit does make the sound of wanting to power up but the tube does not ignite and just stays black. My local Sony Repair shop wants $50.00 US just to look at it.

My question is, are there "checks" I can perform prior to spending the money to have it looked at?

If I provide a picture of the power board "G" can someone point me to the parts to check?

I received a 60" projector the other day, got it home and plugged it in a when i tried to cut it on it would not. Don't the exact history or brand yet but family said it worked fine. I did have to load it on and off a u-haul truck, but everything wnet smooth(nothing that could damage the internals in my opinion). But when you try to power it the power button light flashes then goes out quickly and does this again twice on it's on. I'll try to get the manufacter and model later, can anyone led me in some sort of direction.

I have read most of the forums on this TV, but haven't seemed to find what I am looking for. The convergence ICs have been replaced and now the auto convergence no longer works. I have done the best I can to align everything manually, but it's hard! It has taken me over 5 hours of lining things up in the service mode, but I still feel I am not getting the picture that I should.
Is there a way to get the auto convergence working again?
