Television and Home Theater

This television (Vizio P50HDM) gave a very audible pop and then went out.  Not sure if it is the power supply or the main board.  Nothing checks shorted or open on either board.  What could this be?

I have a sears roebuck and company model #626.54608 392 chasis model# ptv510-ah01 projection television and the television on any input will be dark. you can adjust the brightness and contrast up all the way to see the screen. If you leave the brightness and all controls at mid settings then bring up the tv menu it is normal, bright, and easily seen-but when switched back to the regular video it is dark. Would this be a video amplifier problem? Is the menu screen routed through a different path than the normal video?

So I have this 55 inch monster Samsung model HCM5525W that has an issue with colors. Well, I am not a specialist whatsoever, this is why I am here. I will describe the problem as best as I can.

 Basically it looks as the red, green and blue tint were all in different places on the screen. So it is like I am looking at trippled picture with these colors.

 Also, the screen bows slighly on top and bottom.

What is the problem and what is necessary to fix it?
