I have a sears roebuck and company model #626.54608 392 chasis model# ptv510-ah01 projection television and the television on any input will be dark. you can adjust the brightness and contrast up all the way to see the screen. If you leave the brightness and all controls at mid settings then bring up the tv menu it is normal, bright, and easily seen-but when switched back to the regular video it is dark. Would this be a video amplifier problem? Is the menu screen routed through a different path than the normal video? Looking in the projection tubes they are bright for the menu screen but dark for the normal video output. All three work correctly and are the same brightness. Any input would be appreciated.
sounds like a bad capacitor in the PIP circuit or the video input switching circuit.
