Hitachi 61uwx10ba no pic or sound out DP23 Led

I'm Working On a Hitachi 61" with a DB14G chassis.  The origional symtom was no picture or sound and LED dp23 was out.  I found the problem to be Q777 (2sc5681) and fp05 (2a pico fuse).  I ran the TV for about 10 minutes or so after that and then Q777 poped again.  I replaced it again and found some cold solder on the vertical IC.  I also resoldered the the H drive transformer and a few other things around the circut for safe measure.  It this point I've ran the TV for several minutes but that HOT is getting HOT so I've turning it off before that transisto

Sony TV (from the US) does not work on the Australia cable

We moved to Australia from the US and brought our Sony Trinitron (KV-36XBR800) TV with us. Yes, we had to buy an expensive electricity converter to get the 120v power, but figured that the Foxtel cable unit would work OK. It doesnt. The color is now gray with some hues of blue, and the picture flickers. I have called Foxtel for help and they said that the settings on the TV are wrong. We then bought a plasma locally and it works fine.

I would like to figure out the adjustment on the Sony so we have a second TV. Any ideas?

How can I get into the onscreen adjustment of the convergience. The screen menu does not have that option. The picture is way out of focus, you can see the three seperate colors.

Hello to all and many thanks for all the great advise. after getting the green light of death I did the Cap swap. this did not fix the problem but stopped the set from turning off after a few seconds. So I went on to the Ic convergence and did find a blown fuse so I swapped both fuses and the convergence IC. Well the set powers up but... Now I cannot turn it off with the remote or the front control panal. I have looked and looked for a missed plug rechecked my soldering and all looks complete. I am truely stumped. Any ideas where to probe next would be great. Thanks again,Paul/Blazein

Sony KP-53S65 convergence problem

The color convergence is off at both sides of this tv.  In the middle it is ok from top to bottom.  I plan to replace both STK392-150 ics and check the associated 2.2 ohm resistors.  Are there any pico fuses that I need to check?  I have downloaded the RA-3 service manual from this site but it doesn't appear to cover the 53S65.  Is the convergence procedure different?  If so, can someone let me know what it is?
