Television and Home Theater

My tv will come on but no picture. Once it's turned on to the right of the lamp area is a volt thing that sparks a few times and then stops. After about three times of doing that the tv will shut itself off. I've tried unplugging it but no luck. Is it the lamp or what?

i have this rca tv chassis  atc221. model d52w20  for 9 years we were watching tv and all of a sudden the picture went black i called repair man and he said the light engine went and this will cost about a grand to fix if he can get the parts now this includes consult fee labor and part but i was wandering if this could be correct or if it could be something else please help thank you i need to get an idea before i throw the tv out and get a new one

I have a Sony KP -46WT500 TV that shows two rows of small white dots at the top of the screen. I had to disconnect all cable to reinstall a new Cable Box. After the TV came back on these small white dots appeared and I can’t find out what cause them to appear or how to remove them. Can anyone help with an explanation?
