Television and Home Theater

I have been having a convergence problem with this TV and was in process of ordering a repair kit, when it suddenly developed a rolling problem. I noticed that I could get the rolling problem to go away if I unplugged the power to the TV and waited about 3 minutes before plugging it in and turning it on. This worked for a while, but now I have to play with it for quite a while before I can get it to work correctly.

Is there a kit or remedy for this new problem? Is there a way to adjust the vertical hold?

I just bought a used Sony KP-61V45 Rear Projection TV...the guy I bought it from had it in a storage locker, and he plugged it in for me and it wasn't flashing.  Then when we brought it home and brought it up stairs, and plugged it in it had a picture, but the screen keeps flashing on and off...my husband took the back of the tv because someone said it could be a loose connection somewhere or the guns might need to be adjusted, but when we look it there we don't even know what we are looking at...the reason we got a used tv is because we can't afford a new one, so we also can't afford
