Television and Home Theater

Good Morning all.

I have a Mitsubishi WS48511 projection tv.

The problem I am having is the blue convergence light; it does adjust up/down, but right/left.

I will really appreciate anyone's comments on how to fix this problem.

My friend has been having the following issure with his tv. Has anyonehad this problem or know what the issue is. If so, how much would it roughly cost to repair (worth repairing). 

Sometimes the t.v. will turn on and sometimes you have to unplug it awhile and then turn it on.

Current problem is progressively getting worse. While watching tv, pictures shrink a little and you see vertical line breakup at the top and bottom. It only happens for a second and then jumps back to normal. After a few weeks, now sometimes the vertical will shrink entirely to the center of the screen, and the tv will power off. You can power set back on and it runs fine again.
