Dell W4200 HD Plasma

Anyone have any first hand opinions of the Dell 42 inch HD plasma? Looks like a good deal at $2999 given the specs.

Projector Screen Paint

So, I'm talking with some friends the other night about projectors and the rooms they live in, and someone mentioned projector screen paint. I'd never heard of this before. Googled some things, and now understand that there are several products out there (like Screen Goo) which actually allow you to paint a screen on your wall, instead of buying a real one.

Is this for real? Anyone tried this? Seems to me that it can't possibly stack up to the real thing.

How do I know I am buying a REAL universal remote?

My husband has too many "universal" remotes. If there really was such a thing, why would he need more than one. Can someone please explain what universal is supposed to mean?

Is it just a marketing term or is there really one to rule them all?

Topics in Distributed Audio

I'm much further along with distributed audio in my home than distributed video. In fact, getting ready to post an article on the topic this week. But I wanted to open this conversation as well, since again, I'm sure many of us are working on this challenge.

What works? What doesn't? Who has what? Why did you get it? How did you hook it up? I'll save posting my solution(s) 'til I've heard from some others.

Topics in Distributed Video

I've run dual RG-6 all over my house for distributed video, but haven't actually hooked up components to those wires. Who out there can give me some advice / pointers before I start buying componentry? I'm especially concerned about solving the control problem. Any thoughts?

Plus, I know I'm not the only one out there working on this project.

I gotta get me a TV!

Okay, so I'm still watching the tiny 27" CRT I bought right out of college, but this has gotta stop. All my research has pointed me toward the Samsung 46" DLP (as in model HL-P4663W).

Anyone got any better suggestions / pointers for me?
