Television and Home Theater

I own a 46" RCA rear projection tv model # P46810LV wich is about seven years old. For some time now whenever I turn the tv on, it would show fine but after a few minutes, I would start getting images with the colors separated i.e blue, red and green. I have tried unsucessfully to correct the problem from the troubleshooting guide.
Recently, I started having problems with the audio as well. Sometimes when I turn the set on it would work fine and at other times I would get nothing but static.

i have a rca 38 inch widescreen tube hdtv. It's connected to the same surge protector as my dvd player and vcr which still work fine. The power indicator still works on the tv but no video nor audio appears to be working. When I turn off the surge protector the tv makes that electronic sound where you know the power is leaving??? uh... Anyways when I turn the surge protector back on I hear that same sound and you know the tv should work but when I turn on the tv the result is the same. No image. No sound. It stopped working last night.

The TV wont come on,it just makes a buzzing noise.Can anyone help me??
