Television and Home Theater

I need some help here. I have a 52" RCA HDTV and got a dolby surround system with subwoofer and five other speakers. After it was all hooked up everything worked but sound to the TV. Can anyone tell me why I get sound with the dvd/cd player but watching regular tv I cant get the surround sound to work on tv.

I have an RCA 35" TV Model F35665. I have it connected to a cable box which must remain on channel 3. While watching TV it will begin switching from channel to channel during this time the remote does not work. Eventually it will stay on one particular channel at which time the remote works and then I can switch it back to channel 3 in order to watch cable only to have it happen all over again. I've unpluged it for several days, when I replug it works fine for a couple of days. Has anyone experienced this same problem? Does anyone have any ideas on what is causing this?

I have a toshiba tdp-mt8 home theatre digital projector that has set the "change lamp" warning. I have several questions and comments. 1)First the manual says that this warning should appear for a short time and go out, but it stays on all the time. 2)The manual gives a procedure to reset this by holding down both brightness switches as the same time after unplugging/plugging and turning unit on, but this does not eliminate it either.
