Television and Home Theater

Both sides of the screen about 6 inches in is a different color (lighter) than the rest. I contacted rca and they said it could be burned screen. I do not know how this could be it is 1 year old, one week left on the warranty. If it is burned I will have to pay, the repair firm want 200 dollars to come here and I would have to pay if burned. The entire 6 inches is different. I have never done any thing to this tv except turn it on and off.

We have two 24" flat CRT(conventional) TVs in our home - a Sony KV24-S120 and a Toshiba 24AF-43. They aren't huge but they have given very good presentations, esp. for movies.

Three months ago I purchased AVIA Guide to Home Theater and performed the "Basic 5"(Contrast, Brightness, Color etc) calibration on both, using the included filters. Both sets reaped much improvement from this simple procedure, and I was quite satisfied.

I just bought a 42" samsung dlp rear projection hdtv and i have dish network hooked up via s video and my dvd player hooked up via componet jacks in low light,black and close up shots of people the you can see like a sheen on the faces and it looks like the picture is digitized or someling like that I called samsung they had a service tech call but when i told him the problem he told me that it was the signal from the satalite and the dvd not the tv and to get a proscan high end dvd player and that he simply canceled satalite and just watches movies is this the problem or is it the tv?And w
