Samsung HLR4266W DLP tv picture quality? need help?

I just bought a 42" samsung dlp rear projection hdtv and i have dish network hooked up via s video and my dvd player hooked up via componet jacks in low light,black and close up shots of people the you can see like a sheen on the faces and it looks like the picture is digitized or someling like that I called samsung they had a service tech call but when i told him the problem he told me that it was the signal from the satalite and the dvd not the tv and to get a proscan high end dvd player and that he simply canceled satalite and just watches movies is this the problem or is it the tv?And what good is a fancy DLP tv if the signals arent advansed enough for the tv?
