Written by Guy Kuo

Much of the data here was builds on and borrows information from the
Pulse Width Method document by Barry Gordon. You should read that
document and understand how to decode pulse width modulated codes. This document
covers decoding of RC5 phase modulated codes.

The Pronto learned hex code is a series of hexadecimal numbers. The first four of which have special meaning.

This document describes the format of learned IR codes as they are displayed in ProntoEdit program. It is assumed that the reader has a working familiarity with the Philips Pronto remote control and the ProntoEdit software system.

Adding JP1 to the RCU810

Adding a JP1 connector to the RCU810 remote is a little bit more complicated that adding one to a remote like the Cinema 7, so I have outlined the steps involved here.

First you have to take the remote apart. Remove the screw in the battery compartment, then pry the two sides apart. Read Tommy Tyler's Instructions if you have difficulty doing this. Personally, I slide an old credit card into the crack at the lower end of one side, and proceed to seperate the two parts.
