Sony Vaio In-Built Microphone not working, HELP!A

So I have this laptop thats maybe 2 years old and has a in-built microphone that doesn't work anymore. I enabled it from the sound settings but I get no sound from the microphone. What I suspect that its, just probably old but if anyone can help thaat would be great :D.
