We have a Mitsubishi WS-65857 television. We have a repair tech working on it and is about on his last straw...can't figure out the issue. Thought maybe we could get some idea's from here.
Day 1 - TV left on for 24 hours with a single picture.
Day 2 - Watched one tv episode, no burnt in picture (luckily), but every 15 minutes the entire picture would flash a purple hue. Turned off television.
Day 3 - Television Power LED on, picture was black except for a red semi-circle from the top dipping down toward the middle. Turned on and off...then black screen with normal power led.
Day 4 - Tech thought a bad vertical _____ chip. Replaced far right board of the three in the tv set with a used one. Everything works again, picture...inputs, etc... Watch one television show perfectly, then turned off
Day 5 - Turned on television, and it turned itself off after a few seconds. TV would not stay on.
Day 6 - Replaced the origianl motherboard, but switched the "Jungle Chip" Television works perfectly. Turned on and off many times...left on and turned off...picture fine. Later that night, Power LED light comes on, but black screen. Error code showes 2-1 (nothing wrong).
Day 7 - Tech thinks that the last option is to replace the far left motherboard with the connectors hooked to it. If that doesn't work, he can't help us anymore.
Anyone have an idea about what is happeining??? After he changes something each time, the tv works for a bit and then later has issues.
