Need help with my samsung hls6168w dlp tv

i had to replace the lamp and when i turned tv back on there was no picture and the lamp light was blinking on the front panel. Also there was a rapid beeping noise coming from the lamp area any suggestions what it might be? I was told that i should replace the ballast.
