Mitsubishi WD-82737 HDMI Input Switching Problems

During the last 4 months my TV will lose signal and flicker when switching between HTPC and Blu-ray player.  Not always the same hdmi port.  If I do "menu 123 reset" the tv  returns to factory defaults recognizes the inputs and starts working properly.  I have upgraded the firmware but that didn't fix it.  Seems like a bug or software issue.  I checked for service error codes and there wern't any.  Could this be a hardware or handshake problem?

Mitsubishi said if it happens again they will send a repairman.  Is there anything else I could try before calling for service?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I would start by using a different set of HDMI wires, if that doesn't dolve it, try using a different DVD player. This would islolate the problem, at least to the unit. Another thing you may try is to adjust your resolution on the PC to a lower setting. If that still doesn't work, get on e-bay, and buy a new main input board, which is the main board where all your inputs run into. That should solve the problem, besides, it's alot cheaper than having a repairman come over, good luck, let us know how you turned out!

Thanks for the input. I have

Thanks for the input. I have tried another player and isolated the problem to the TV. I bought HDMI 1.4 cables and am waiting to see if it happens again. THe TV is under factory warranty if it is indeed the input board. It just doesn't seem like a hardware problem since factory reset fixes it. But of course I am a novice, thats why I'm on this forum
