Evil, Thanks for your responses. When I press the ON button with the remote the green light rapidly blinks for a few minutes(more than 2) and goes off , then the TV actually turns on. Sometimes it only blinks for a few minutes and does nothing. I am aware blinking for a minute after plugging it in is normal. This isn't the case as the tv has been plugged in for days when trying to power it on. It used to be that I had to push the reset button with a paperclip for ten seconds and release and it would blink for a minute and then I could turn it on. The power button on the front of the tv does nothing. The other buttons work fine.
