Yeah, I've got the green blinking light of death. The TV is 5 years old. I have no patience and have soldered two things in my 54 years. Is this worth paying to have fixed or is it worth me trying to do it myself?

If its just a couple of capacitors sure it would be well worth the time and effort.Does it blink constant or a fixed amount of times?
If you can muster up the patience to open the TV and remove the DM board and then take it to someone to have them do the unsoldering and sodering it is well worth it. Otherwise the repair cost are pretty substantual. It will take some patience to even remove the board though. And you want to be very careful with the board itself in handling it. The repair did fix mine and still working a year and half latter.
PS If your going to do it, I would purchase the (Good) capacitors and take thos to the repair person as well.
