I have a Magnavox 26 tv in my office and sometimes the tv works fine but more often than not, the sound will come on but no picture. So, if I go and smack it on the back, I can here a little click and the tv will flicker on and then off again, I keep repeating it till it stays on. There is a definite link between the click sound I hear when I hit it and it turning on.
Any ideas?

Maybe there a bad solder joint somewhere that when you smack it, it keeps connecting till it finally gets stuck and works. Then you turn it off and what ever connection it made brakes again cause of the TV cooling down.
So I would think maybe that solder joint or maybe the relay is going bad.
