Mitsubishi WS-65857 will not turn on

Hello...looking for some help in troubleshooting my Mitsu WS-65857.  It was working fine, then went to turn it on and it would not power on.  The green power LED comes on for about 2 seconds, then shuts off.  I hear a clicking sound when it shuts off.

I ran the error code check (INPUT and MENU held for 5 sec), and got 2 blinks-pause-1 blink.  This appears to be a "x-ray detect" error.

Any ideas on how to repair??  Any insight very much appreciated!!

This could be a convergence

This could be a convergence circuit failure. Check two fuses F9A04 and F9A05 located on power board. If either fuse is bad, change the convergence IC's and the fuse. If the fuses are good, you'll have to look elsewhere for the fault.

You have to check the

You have to check the vertical and the horizontal circuit.

1. SELF- DIAGNOSIS INDICATE X-RAY. MAY ALSO HAVE INTERMITTENT FOCUS. CHECK FOR PROPER SEATING OF CONNECTIONS TO AND FROM THE HIGH VOLTAGE BLOCK.

2. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATE X-RAY. CHECK FOR 10 VOLTS AT PIN 3 OF IC5A02. IF LOW CHECK IC5A03 PART # 270P704010.

22 for that model means short

22 for that model means short protect circuit, you could try removing the convergence ic's from the board and see if the set stays on.

Thanks. For a layman (with an EE background), what do the convergence ICs do, and which circuit board are they on? I did manage to find the service manual online. any idea how much a complete board swap will run me?

Hello All,

Hello All,

I have a 73inch(WS-73909)a couple of months back i had the caps changed because of the blinking green light of death. Everything was fine then until yesterday. We a sudden power failure for a minute or two and now the set turns on but quickly turns off before a picture or sound starts up. I plugged and unplugged several times and the set does reset it self but after the light stop blinking the set wont co-mitt to stay on. I did and error code and its seems to be flashing 22. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Mitsubishi WS-65857.

I have a Mitsubishi WS-65857. It turned itself off. I then turned it on again... the power light illuminated for about 3 seconds then the TV turned off again. I then unplugged the TV waited about 30 seconds then plugged it back in. The power light blinked three times. I then turned the TV on and again it turned itself off in 3 seconds. I then pressed the front panel "input" and "menu: buttons at the same time for 5 seconds to get the error codes the error code was "1, 2" which I show indicates "no error has occured". What could the problem be?
