TV keeps cycling on and off (Samsung DLP)

My TV suddenly will not stay on for more than a few seconds before turning off, then almost immediatly (1-2 seconds) turns back on, then off, a continuous cycle. As if the front panel tactile button for manually turning it on and off is stuck. But I don't know how to get access to that front panel on/off button to jog it loose or replace it. Help?  I removed about a dozen black screws that seemed to be holding the screen and front panel in place, but the bottom part of the screen/panel will not come loose and that is what I need to come off, right? Is this a fix it job I can do myself or do I need to call a TV Doctor repair person? I am usually pretty handy, but I am stumped. TV is out of 90 day warranty, about a year old. MAYBE I fixed this! I will

MAYBE I fixed this! I will know more in a day or two or three, but I found this on the internet and tried it, and now my TV is working (not shutting off, on, off, on, off, on as before):

WHat I did for now was take a small piece of tape (black electrical tape) and tape that goddamn little blue lever in the down position, then put the black plastic cover back on. Unbelievable, if that is the issue. I just got back from shopping for a new TV, and now realize a stinking little piece of tape might be all that was needed, saving me $1000+ by not having to buy a new TV. Grrrr. I even called Samsung earlier today and they were no help at all. Thank goodness for the power of the internet and information everybody shares to help each other with problems like this!

Let me add--- I also had taken off the front of the TV (it sticks at the bottom, feels like there should be screws there but there aren't, you just have to pull hard and it comes out)-- and removed the on/off push button because I read that sticks and can cause this problem too-- so MAYBE that also was part of the problem. Regardless, I wanted that on/off push button deactivated so I would not have that problem if it did not already cause my issue.

Watched TV yesterday evening and this morning now after doing the above. SEEMS to be working, but I want to see if I can go another day or two without any issues. If you do not hear back from me here, assume it all worked!

Just curious did you ever

Just curious did you ever figure out if that was the only thing wrong? I am having the same problems with the same model tv. I tried that trick and it still power cycles.
