So I got this TV from a friend who traded it for a RPTV I learned to repair on this great resource of a forum, I have a few pictures and would like some opinions. When I got this set it would power up and vertical bands about 3" of the screen would turn white in sections until the whole screen was white, with random pixels colored. As suggested by someone with the same problem, I replaced the main tuner board with a used part. It now turned on but it looked like something I would see on drugs...
So I took some time and re-checked my work and decided to replace the LCD controller board, thinking it may also have failed. No change. I suspect that even though the replacement main board 'worked' that it may be the cause of the error. I know it is a gamble getting used parts and now considering ordering another, but has anyone come across this symptom before?
I have this exact same TV with this EXACT same problem!
