Started with a horizontal wave of picture on start up and over the course of a couple weeks has turned into a fairly constant varing pitch of a wave regaurdless of what input is used.......
Brother Larry, ya gotta help me out again........if I don't fix it soon, the little lady will call the local repair guy, which I am sure will fix it, just at half the cost of my house payment ;-)
Tony
Tony did you repair the DM capacitors yet? If you did where did you get them from?
Larry D.
Thanks for a quick reply Larry.
Replaced those with ones you specified a about two years.
Tony
LOOK at them again Please and make sure they say 105(C) and not the 85(C)
Larry D.
I bought about 10 of them at the time, and the ones I didn't use are 105c.....Should I look to see if any of them failed?
Tony
yes I certainly would, caps are ceap so I would just replace them.
Caps looked good, changed them and still have same problem.......
What next Larry??????? I got faith you can figure it out. lol
thanks, Tony
Tony can you take a picture and send it to techman32k(at)yahoo(dot) com ?

I have a WS-65411. About two weeks ago I turned the tv off to goto bed. Came back to it the next day after work and turned it on. The green light on the front came on for 2-3 seconds and went back off. After reading alot online, I found how to check the error code. Came back with error 22. Here is what I did so far:
-Just replaced the convergence chips " stk392-110's and 2 burnt 3.9 ohm 2 watt resistors and a 5 amp pico fuse. Have fixed all the problems with error code 22 and the tv turns on now. I have a service manual and reset all values to factory settings after seeing that the green raster was bowed. Green raster bows at top and bottom which is causing colors to be off. Have used 4 sets of new sanyo ic chips to make sure that was not it. I am very good with soldering and desoldering. I also have a very good meter. I am able to adjust red and blue convergence up, down, side to side with no problem.
what could cause green raster to be off? If anyone knows, please help.
Thanks in advance.
yes Tony I did It might be the small 9 volt ic right behinfd the input jack booard, I think it is IC9A05 one side should measure 12 volts the other side should be 9 volts that nIC gets real hot so it might even have bad solder connections, one tip with the set on tap on the ic , NO you do not need to bang o9n it just a few light taps from the top see how that affects thepicture!!

Thanks

Well, looks like this is over my head Larry.
Time to call someone in.
Does any body know a good tech in the Portland OR area????
Thanks Tony
nope the wavy picture is an easy to replace ic or maybe just a resoldering.
I will look for the instructions and send it to you.
Larry Dillon.
Follow the instructions Larry sends,
that regulator has got to be the #2 problem with that series...right behind the DM capacitors. Please repair the set, among the best tv's ever made.

Well, if Larry sends me instructions, I'll follow them to a tee
Looks like I'm in the beginning stages of this. My set recently (last week) started having wavy lines on start-up for about 30 seconds. It hasn't progressed to being always present though. I did the DM capacitors about a year ago and that has worked great. Is the fix for the wavy lines on that same board?
Where do I get a 9v regulator for a Mit WS65813? We have wavy green lines. Is this easy to install for average homeowner?
We purchased the part online from Audio Lab of Georgia for 1.75 (shipping was 5-8.00 don't remember for sure but it was worth it because it only took a couple of days to get it) the tv guy was only going to charge 10.00 because it only took him a few minutes - I gave him a 20.00 because he DID do it so quick! the link to Audio[[I think it is IC9A05 one side should measure 12 volts the other side should be 9 volts that nIC gets real hot so it might even have bad solder connections, one tip with the set on tap on the ic , NO you do not need to bang on it just a few light taps from the top see how that affects the picture!!IC9C25 (9-volt regulator) part # 270P677030

Larry,
I am in the same boat as Tony. I am wondering if it is possible for you to send me the 9-volt regulator instructions as well.
I would be eternally grateful.
Thanks!
-David
I'm having the same wavy picture problem with my Mitsubishi WS-48513 tv. I've gone in and tried to find the IC 9A05 to see if tapping would have a response, but could not find one with that designation (I did find a 9A21, so I think I'm looking in the right place). Could you give me an idea which board and location on it?
Also, I'd try to replace the capacitors in the "DM module", but not sure which module is the "DM" one.
Any help would be appreciated. I dragged the tv to the basement and want to be able to set it up for the kids to watch movies down there!
Ok, my turn for the wavy line thing. I would bet it's the 9v regulator that is mentioned above. Can I get those instructions too please?
Thanks in advance!
Reply to Luv2Flyfish... To be honest, no one ever replied to me on my post, so I never determined which IC to look at. I finally bit the bullet and pulled the main board out of my tv and replaced the five electrolytic capacitors (three 200v 1000uf, one 200v 470uf and 1 50v 4700uf). Total cost of $54 (from MCM). Six months later, still works!
I have wavy lines all the time so I had the televison removed and am thinking of buying a new big screen. Now I am wondering if I should just have it fixed and forget the new purchase. Is it worth fixing or will I be in the same boat say six months from now?
Almost a year later, the tv is still working fine (after replacing the 5 capacitors). It took more time to pull the card and replace it than the actual solder job. Granted, I don't use it quite as much (I did buy a new flat screen), but the wavy line issue has gone away.
To be honest, I love having the behemoth out of my living room.

Larry, have Mitsubushi 52525, virtical, horizontal, diagonal colored lines after it heats up. Then it will go to white horizontal streaks...through all this, not not a very clear picture. During initial start-up not a bad picture.
Surprisingly, after all these years, have not had the "blinking light" problem.

How can I fix that problem my tv has wave of line on top of the screen and the letters they look like 3d
Hi, I have a WS-55513 with the line issues. I've adjusted the convergance, and everything is in order that way. I'm hopeing this is soldering issues, that needs to be looked at. Un-fortunately I don't have the paper work (schematic, circut read out) on the set. I took the back off, and it's a jungle back there. If you could give directions, or email me with a solution, it would be greatly apprecited. thanks, Lyle
