Hello,
I just inherited a Sony kp-61xbr48 projection TV. The previous owner told me he turned it on about 30 times when he first bought it, and then it died and he just bought a new one. Must be nice to have so much money you can just leave a TV like that sit for 10 years.
The TV would first have a white screen when you attempted to turn it on, but now it just flashes a red blinking light continuously that repeats after 7 blinks and a slight pause.
I opened up the back, and there is a 1 inch strip of black tape on two of the three picture bulbs that overlaps the bulb edge.
Just wondering what the deal is with the tape, and if you might know what the problem is with the TV. Thanks for any help.
