I have read several of your responses. I have a VS-60705. It was a friends and was working up until about a year ago when he replaced it.
It was given to me about 2 weeks ago. When In moved it into the basement it would not come on at first. Just Blinking green lights as I have heard people talk about on here.
After cycling it a few times I was able to get it to come on, but the top and bottom of the picture was cut off. After a short period of time the picture went full screen.
I was able to use the unit for about a day, when the screen went squiggly and just stopped.
I ran the diagnostic on it and got 1-2 which means I guess no problem. But, I still have a black screen and nothing.
I talked to repair shop and they stated that they often have seen on this brand of TV the projection tubes lead and get on the boards shorting something out.
I disassembled the "motherboard Assy" and there was liquid on it. Does this mean the board is shot or can I clean it with IPA and start again?
I inspected all the caps and downloaded all your articles and do not see any enlarged or deformed caps.
any suggestions on what to try next? Can I clean the board and replace the tubes?
any suggestions would be welcome
