My friend has the above TV/VCR combo. When he plays a tape the sound comes through but there is no picture, it is random snow as if the tape is blank. I tried tracking with the volume controls on the front of the TV, but to no avail.
Has anyone got any ideas whats up with it?

The most common cause of this is dirty heads. Try cleaning the heads with a cleaning tape. If that fails to resolve the problem, the unit will require a professional cleaning. You can also try taking a brand new blank tape and playing it then performing a reverse search (REW while playing). That too can clean the heads.
