This is my first attempt with DLP televisions! I'm a novice (at best) with television repair but find that when pointed in a general direction, I've been fairly successful. With that said... A friend of mine has a RCA HD61LPW42 television that has recently displayed a large diagonal bright line approximately 4 inches wide across the entire screen. I have not seen this problem on the actual television, but he wants to fly me from Utah to Phoenix to repair it for him. The local guy told him it would cost $850. The repairman told him that the heatshield was cracked and two of the cca's would need to be replaced. It seems to be a physical problem and not an electronic problem due to the fact that the entire picture is fine, other than that diagonal line. Any help would be appreciated!
