I have a RCA D40W20 40" projection tv monitor. I don't have the origional remote and when I watch a channel that has trailors on the top and bottom, ESPN Scores, they are are about 80% cut off.
This set has different formats to switch from. 4:3, Zoom 14:9, Zoom 16:9, Zoom 16:9 ^/v, Cinerama, regular mode 16:9.
Somehow I am stuck in one of the zoom modes because of the above situation. The manual says the left/right arrows on the origional remote will move between the different formats.
Does anyone know of a RCA universal remote that would have this function?
Thanks
Joe
Forgot, Is there a way to set the tv back to factory defaults?
I looked in the menu and could not find how to switch the formats.
THanks again
Joe
Oftentimes unplugging the TV for 5 minutes or so will reset it, but who knows what the default view mode is for your set.
If it doesn't work, you can one of two things:
1. A universal remote. I don't know if RCA has one with this function (they might), but the Harmony line from Logitech should give you formatting modes for certain brands.
2. Order a new factory replacement OEM remote. You may still be able to get an original remote for your TV by calling your local TV service center. It's probably expensive, but it will work for sure. :-)
