sony 32inch crt shut off while in service mode

i have a kv-32fs12 that i am(was) using as a computer monitor.
i was adjusting the size of the edges in service mode (and eventually started playing, making the screen smaller)

i made the screen about half the size of the crt tube and then the next setting was interlace (options 1,2,3)
i moved the option to 3 and noticed the interlaced looked terrible and was going to put the option back down but the television shut off.

i thought 'no big deal.. i'll unplug the tv and plug it back in to reset any settings not saved to the rom'

well i unplugged and plugged the television back in and now the television refuses to turn on.

when the television is 'on' (no video) the red light is steady and the bulb goes out twice, repeating.
and when the television is 'off' the red light is steady off and blinks 4 times

a lot of places offering service menu support said that anything not saved into the rom will be reverted back to the prior settings by simply unplugging the tv and plugging it back in.

how come my television isnt doing that?

i tried to turn the television back on in service mode and doing an 8 + enter sequence to reset the service menu values (that didnt work).

is there anything i can do instead of taking this television back to my storage unit until i can afford to take it to a repair shop. (the money wont come along for 8-9 months)

hi..

hi..

my television had sat unplugged, i was hoping the chip that was holding the ackward settings would stop receiving power and thus delete the settings i was playing with.

well that didnt happen.
i plugged the tv in today and it still wont turn the tube on.
all i get is a blinking light and a noise from the backside of the set, and the noise sounds like a cricket.

kinda makes me think there is a serious break in the circuit and the circuitry before the break is 'pinging' the next circuit only to find a fault.

i DONT want to throw away a good gun and tube, and i DONT want to be paying insurance money for a spare board in-case the patch fails.
okay.. so the board cant be patched, well i cant afford to pay for labor.
(i cant pay for anything right now.. i have $11 in my checking account and $10 left on my foodstamps - and tomorrow i am supposed to start receiving $26 LESS per month)

i'm just trying to make it.
and this television should be working, especially since i know that tv's can read a head-spike.

it feels like there is a giant ccd camera staring at me.

the tube and gun should be able to last until the resolution just wont fulfill ANYTHING.. christ i'll toss it off to my mothers living room just to keep it in service.

i remember counting visual depth in METERS with a crt, and now LCD can do it (probably not on the market yet though)

lcd's aren't bi-directional cameras like crt's are though.
i feel naive and without a functioning piece of fine art.
