Samsung HCN4727W - Possible convergence issue?

I have a Samsung HCN4727W, it's been a great TV for quite a few years now.  I believe I bought it back in 2003 or so.  Tonight, I started watching a video, and the screen was having a weird flickering to it, kind of like watching a damaged VHS tape.  I figured it was just a screwed up movie.  I finished the movie, then switched over to cable, and it was still doing it.  So, apparently my TV is going out.  After a bit of research, and looking at the pictures, I would say that what I'm seeing looks somewhat similar to other people's convergence issues.  Mine has an hourglass distortion on all 4 edges of the screen.  And what's weird, is the picture will actually FLICKER between perfect and the distorted view.  It will do that for a little while, and after a while the picture starts going nuts.  Kind of like if you try to watch a scrambled cable channel that you don't subscribe to.  Then, it will flicker some more, and go back to normal, and start the cycle all over again.  It's driving me crazy, considering this wasn't a cheap TV.  I just want to get it working again.  :(  Does this sound like a convergence board issue?

Okay...now it seems to have

Okay...now it seems to have settled onto one effect that it's happy with.  I'll call it the mini-blind effect.  Either way, it's annoying and it totally sucks to see your $2000 TV doing it.  :(  Any ideas?
