Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum. I have a question about my family TV, and it may seem a little pointless but bare with me.
Well, as you see I have a RCA p56812BI. It's a really big and really OLD projection TV. We've had it for around 14 or 15 years. Yeah, I know. I would really like to get a new TV by now, because this one is crapping the bed hard. I'm trying to let my parents know that they need to as well, but they're old enough where they just don't want to buy a new TV.
The problem I'm having first started with out of no where, about 7 months ago, we turned on the TV and the screen was warped. What would normally be straight lines on the TV were curved, and the ends of the display were cut off. It looked as though something was pushing the screen inwards. Kinda tough to visualize, I know.
Now the family and I stuck with it anyway, up until about 2 weeks ago. NOW it looks as though you should be wearing 3D glasses to watch it. The image has both a ghost image in red to the left of it, and a ghost image of blue to the right of it. Everything is slightly trippled.
My question, though I'm guessing there's nothing I can do, is "is there ANYTHING I can do personally, maybe open it up and move something slightly to rememdy this problem?" I feel so bad for my parents who sit there and squint with already bad eyes. Besides these two problems, this TV has been great. If anyone has any ideas or solutions, I'd be very grateful. Thanks for reading.
(I would have taken it somewhere but it's simply too big of a TV to move or put in a car.)
