Blinking Light Codes

I had a 60 Sony tv giving to me by a neighbor. He stated that it didnt work. This unit looks like it just come out of the box (brand new) but the standby light blinks 6 times.  I have done research on the model number to see what it could be.  What I have been told is that the jungle ic is the problem. But what exactly is the jungle ic.  I have noticed that some say it is the main processor in the unit, is this true and is it possible to fix myself.  Thanks Chris
