Polaroid 32" LCD TV model #FLM-3201WON'T TURN ON =/

TV is approximately 3-4 years old. Yesterday I turned it on.. And there was a slight crackling noise but then the picture came on and it was fine for a little while. Then I heard the crackling sound again and then it turned off. I tried to turn it back on but the light only went from the red (standby mode) to nothing and then back to red.  What could this be? I don't have $200+ to send it to a repair shop at this time. UGHHHHHH =[
