Mitsubishi 60805 Powers On / No Picture

First and foremost, I'd like to thank the fourm and, in particular Larry Dillon for allowing me, someone who never thought he could repair a TV set, to repair not just one, but TWO Mitsubishi television projection TV's.  Here's what happened... I have a Mitsubishi WS-65909 and a couple of months ago it stopped turning on.  Instead, the power light would just blink.  Well, I found this forum and some of Larry Dillon's posts and ended up replacing a few capacitors on the DM board.  Completely fixed and still works.  Now... before finding out the problem and the solution I managed to unnecessarily take out the whole set of circuit boards and unplug everything in the process.  I was so impressed with myself that I not only put it back together (that would have been enough in iteself) but I acutally fixed it.  So I looked on Craiglist and found a guy selling TWO identical Mitsubishi 60806 TV's with remotes for $50 each.  My buddy and I drove down there with his truck and I promised him the first one I'd be able to fix.  And that's where the real fun began.

One had a real messed up 3D effect with the red.  I went into the "special" menu codes and spent an hour adjusting the covergence and acutally fixed it.  Learned alot in the process of that, which is most of why I bought these two TV's.  I gave my friend that TV.  Two days later, he called and described the same problem.  So I ordered the two convergence IC's from the link available on this site, for about $25, went over there and soldered them in.  Put the thing back together thinking it would not work... but it did.  Not even an adjustment necessary.  Strange, because with all my adjustments to the bad IC's I thought it would be 'out of whack'.  I guess the adjustments for convergence must reside on the IC's themselves?  So, 2 down and one to go.

This last vs-65805 powers on, but there's no picture.  Error code 1-2, so everything okay.  The bottom of the lamps have a glow to them when the set is on.  No puffy capacitors, no glycol leaked on the board, no pico fuses blown (all tested continuity).  I hit the input button and every 6th push, i can hear the input cliking in and out, so I have a feeling everything is acutally working except the lamps don't light up.  No menu screen, just a black screen.  Don't know if there is audio as I did not hear any 'static' when flipping though the inputs, but I suppose I will hook up an external audio source to be sure.  I've had the board out three or four times checking things and I can plug the 10+ connectors up in under a minute by now :-)  [Took a half hour the first time]  But there is just no way to check what is wrong.  What is a good starting point.  Are there any caps that burn out first... I'm willing to replace all of them, or the IC's or anything else to see this repair through, cost effective or not.  I just want to try the most likely stuff first.  Any help would be much appreciated.  And, again, special thanks to Larry Dillon.  I read that he had a brain tumor a few months back, but it looks like everything worked out, and I was extremely happy to see that given his thousands of posts on here for no apparent compensation that I can see.

Well, I see that message was just plain too long so, for the sake of brevity...
