hi, daewoo model DV-T5DN. this vcr went dead, blew 2 amp fuse. upon checking found the main switching transistor shorted. does anyone know where i can purchase it? the number is KTC 4521F.ive done a google search with no sucess. thanks pg

thank you for your input, btw, the reason the transistor shorted, 68mfd/250v cap was open. regards pg.
you also should make sure that there are no bad diodes from the dc leak , and that resistor values are within the excepted range
If you need anymore help , just post any test results you have , I just got done rebuilding a power source (atx) for my computer( was freezing up ) and found that they have been putting in these cheap capacitors ( teac ), and I have found that they are in alot of devices and they don't always show signs of failure , but they are failing , so just replacing any of these type brand of caps( teac, kc) will help the circuit to last longer and run better.
hi repairdude, regarding the switching transistor ktc4521 which is rather hard to locate, i used a 2sc3890. i added a heatsink, it seems to be working ok. thanks for the heads up on the bad caps. pg
