Volume problem on RCA L22HD32D TV

I just purchased this HDTV and DVD player combination.  The volume is fine with DVD's and CD's and I just have to turn the volume up less than half way for good volume.  However, for TV viewing the volume has to be turned all the way up and is still not very loud.  Is there some setting I am missing or something?  Any help will be greatly appreciated.
