Hi All,
I have a KP-53HS30 that is out of convergence, and the flash-focus will not correct the problem. The three colors are simple not lining up horizontally (ever so slightly vertically). I snagged it for 75 bucks, and it looks to be in great shape aside from the convergence problem.
I have found these two helpful sites (posted By Larry Dillon):

How do I diagnose this sucker? Do I need the service manual. If there is indeed a broken chip, can I still manually converge the image? I am going to have to run out and pick up a universal remote before I make a manual attempt. I used to be an electronics tech in the Navy, and I am not afraid of getting in this tv and working on it. I just happen to be learning projection TVs by the seat of my pants!
Thanks for your help techlore techies!
