Sony KV-36FS13 CRT TV has heartbeat but 'comatose'...

After reading all the helpful responces to the convergence issues with the rear projection Sony HDTVs - of which I own one -  I thought I'd take my chances with getting some help with this big CRT Sony KV-36FS13, Chassis AA-2U.

When it was owned by elderly neighbors, and when working, it had a very nice picture. One day I get a call from them wanting to know if I can help dispose if it. Supposedly the set made a "POP!" sound and went black. I looked closely at the TV before deciding on the removal procedure (this thing is HEAVY!!!) and noticed component video inputs. With the end of analog broadcasting making most old, inoperative SD sets not worthy of repair, seeing those component jacks and reading that this TV has some sort of 'pseudo HD mode', I ended up giving it a new home.

Problem: No video or sound. The set is responding to the remote however with a master relay clicking in response to the remote's power button.  The power LED is trying to tell me what ails the circuitry via Morse code but I can't find the exact meanings of the blinking patterns regardless of the time spent searching the web.

Here's the blinking pattern:

Power On - 13 flashes (slow), pause, 5 flashes (fast) then repeat the five flashes forever.

Power Off - 5 flashes (fast), repeating forever.

I'm tossing out a bunch of other color TVs and keeping this CRT and my KV-46WT510 rear projection models.  Time to clean the place up :)

Anyone? Larry? (hope you're feeling better!)

Thanks.

A little update:

A little update:

Spent more hours on the web searching for more on this TV and its problem. I actually found a copy of the service manual! If a site admin will let me know how, I'll upload the pdf here so others can have access to it.

Now I have something to work with and the error flashes make more sense. What I still don't understand is the meaning of the initial 13 flashes - unless they're just marking the 10 second delay period before the real error flashes are displayed. Don't know all yet.
